A Farabazyaft project case study

Playground Surfacing at Hamisheh Bahar Park, Yazd

Interlocking rubber granule tiles for an urban play area

From a hard concrete slab to a safer place to play

This project was carried out in "Hamisheh Bahar" Park in the city of Yazd, where the playground and the swing zone needed a durable, impact-absorbing surface suited to a hot summer climate. Farabazyaft manufactured, delivered and installed two-tone interlocking rubber granule tiles, completing the full fit-out of the space in one week.

120 Square metres of surfacing installed across the playground
20 Millimetre thickness of the interlocking granule tile
1 week From order intake through production, delivery, installation and handover
6 months Unconditional warranty following installation

Project summary

Installing flooring outdoors in Yazd is not simply a matter of laying product; durability under direct sun, thermal expansion, safety around the swing zone and speed of delivery all have to be managed at the same time.

Location

Yazd, Azadshahr Boulevard, Fourth Roundabout, Golestan-e Sharghi, Amir al-Mo'menin Mosque Alley.

Application

Fit-out of the playground and swing zone at Hamisheh Bahar Park for daily use by children.

Product installed

Grade 1 export-quality interlocking rubber granule tile, two-tone red and black, 20 mm thick.

Technical conditions

Resistant to UV exposure and to dimensional change caused by summer heat.

Flooring specifications

The product selected for this project is made from recycled tyre granulate — a solution that improves the safety of the play area while returning material to the consumption cycle.

  • Interlocking structure for orderly installation, easier replacement and full coverage of the swing zone.
  • 20 mm thickness to absorb impact and reduce direct contact with the hard surface underneath.
  • A formulation resistant to sunlight and to the expansion caused by Yazd's summer heat.
  • Quality control across production, delivery and installation, with an unconditional 6-month warranty after handover.

Two tones — legible and in keeping with the urban setting

Red Visual warmth and clear separation of the play zone
Black Contrast, lasting appearance and a chequered rhythm across the surface

A one-week process

The schedule was tight from the outset, so the work moved forward in a compressed but controlled sequence — from order placement to final handover on site.

Requirements survey and order intake

The installation area, square metreage, thickness, colour combination and outdoor durability requirements were defined.

Production and preparation

The interlocking granule tiles were manufactured to the project's technical specification and packed for transport.

Delivery and on-site layout

The product was transported to the park and the installation team set out the initial layout to suit the swing zone and the play route.

Installation, commissioning and handover

After the pieces were fitted, the surface checked and the final review completed, the project was handed over on 22 June 2026.

An outcome beyond simply covering a surface

This installation turned the playground from a dry, hard surface into a space that is easier to read, softer underfoot and better suited to everyday use — a small change in appearance, but a meaningful one for children's experience and for municipal upkeep.
